HSBC is offering
free MP4 players as part of its drive to attract more
students to open their
student accounts.
MP4 players are similar to
MP3 players except for the fact they also play video.
HSBC offer a free 512MB
colour video MP4 player to students opening new student accounts. If they do not want an MP4 player, students can choose to receive 10 free CDs. The standard student
overdraft for the first year of having the
bank account is £1,000 with typical EAR 0%. Students can open a
student bank account online and without fuss.
HSBC is one of the top two
student banks, alongside Natwest. Many of the UK’s universities operate a HSBC branch within campus, or close to university grounds.
HSBC, which stands for Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation, is a popular student bank due to its customer services and
accommodation for student circumstances.
However, with many of their
telephone banking facilities outsourced to
India, some students have complained that those answering the
phones have no understanding of student needs.
