According to the Royal Bank of Scotland, students will receive a number of benefits when opening an RBOS student bank account.
On opening a student bank account, students receive money off selected books, theatre tickets, concert tickets and holidays.
The major incentive that sways students is the interest free overdraft of up to £2,500 available to them, subject to terms and conditions. Royal Bank of Scotland, which is not the most popular student bank account will certainly be receiving student bank account applications with such a large student overdraft available to students.
Also available to student applicants is a no fee credit card allowing students a £500 credit limit and up to 8 weeks interest free credit.
Royal Bank of Scotland also offer a number of loans for healthcare and postgraduate law students up to and in excess of £15,000. Repayments do not have to be made to RBOS until students have completed their education. After graduating, bank account holders have up to 7 years to pay the loan back.
However, with student debt at an all time high, student finance experts warn that tempting students with such a large overdraft could fuel the level of debt in the UK.
